Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What about the overspray?
-
A: The TURBO-TAN System Gun is
adjustable from more than you would ever need, all the way down to slightly
more than an airbrush. You choose how much or how little material you spray.
You can even make quick adjustments during an application for different areas
of the body or when doing the client's face. When adjusted correctly, the
advantages of applying the product at 5 or more times the normal airbrush rate
far outweighs the issue of slightly more overspray in the work area.
- Q: Does TURBO-TAN require a special tanning solution?
-
A: The TURBO-TAN System works best
with a tanning solution which has been optimized for turbine gun application.
Because the turbine gun tends to wet-out the skin more than an airbrush,
standard airbrush solution may stay sticky longer, requiring additional dry
times. The TURBO-TAN System Solution has been
optimized for less stickiness and quicker dry, which we believe also has its
advantages when applied with an airbrush.
- Q: What about maintenence and repairs?
-
A: The TURBO-TAN System is very well
built and durable. With a little simple cleaning and care, the TURBO-TAN
System should give many years of dependable service. If you should need a
repair or replacement, we are here to help, weather within or beyond the
warranty period.
- Q: I've heard that the turbine is louder than an airbrush compressor. Is this
true?
-
A: The TURBO-TAN System Turbine Pump
makes a similar sound as your vacuum cleaner. It is louder than an airbrush
compressor, but only being on for 2 to 3 minutes makes the sound acceptable in
most all salon environments. As with airbrush tanning, it's best to have a
designated separate room or secluded space for tanning.
- Q: 2 Minutes: Is speed really that important in tanning?
-
A: If your clients enjoy spending 10 to 20 minutes standing in
a swimsuit or less, having cold spray applied slowly, and your time is not very
valuable, then airbrush tanning is probably just fine. If, on the other hand,
your clients would like to get in and out quick and you would like to book $800
per hour rather than $160, then faster is definately better.
