1. PREPARATION

Read "TECH PREP" thoroughly before you begin painting. Use only House of Kolor's KP Epoxy Primers over bare metal substrates or metal substrates with body work. Read and follow all label instructions. See tech sheet for more information of KP Epoxy Primers.

2. MIXING KO-SEAL II

FOR KS-10, KS-11, and KS-12 Mix (by volume) 4 parts KO-SEAL II to 1 part KU-150 Exempt Catalyst, to 1 part Kosmic Reducer to remain at 4.58 VOC. Use a reducer best suited to your shop conditions. See tech sheet for more information on reducers. Mix well and strain into gun. For primer application, omit or add only 10 (0.5 part) reducer for higher film build. Pot life 1 hour.

FOR KS-210, KS-211 and KS-212 Mix (by volume) 4 parts KO-SEAL II to 1 part KU-150 Exempt Catalyst, to 1 part RU-300 VOC Exempt Reducer, to remain at 2.08 VOC. Substituting RU-310, RU-311 or RU-312 will give a 3.5 VOC product.

See tech sheet for more information on reducers. Mix well and strain into gun. For primer application, omit or add only 10 (0.5 part) reducer for higher film build. Pot life 1 hour.

3. APPLYING KO-SEAL II

Strain the paint into the paint gun. Air pressure 40-55 psi at the gun. 10 psi at the nozzle of HVLP. Gun distance while spraying should be approximately 6 to 8 inches. Apply 1 or 2 medium wet coats with 50 pattern overlap. Walk long objects. Be sure of thorough coverage. Allow flash time between coats. KO- SEAL II FLASH TEST - ALLOW TO FLASH DULL BETWEEN COATS. USUALLY 5 TO 10 MINUTES. If used as primer apply 2-3 coats.

4. DRYING

Allow to dry 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours before top coat application. (Dry time may vary with weather and shop conditions.)

NOTE: If excessive dry time has elapsed, wet sand and reseal surface for positive adhesion of topcoats. If used as a primer, can sand in 2 hours. Weather and shop conditions can vary sand time.

NOTE: 400-500 grit (wet) or gray scuff pad may be used to remove dirt particles that occur during application.
