Can I use other brands
of product with HOK?
Any dry product such as pearls or flakes may be mixed with other brands of paint.
Mixing wet products with HOK
is a bad idea.
House of Kolor products are formulated to work within the House of Kolor system where as other products are formulated differently to work in their own systems. When you mix products from other systems you risk conflicts in formulation which could spell disaster for your custom job. If you're going to spend all the time and money it takes to do a custom paint job, you shouldn't risk the quality of the job by mixing products. You shouldn't even use another clear over a House of Kolor paint job. HOK clears are formulated to protect your custom finish with two to three times more UV protection than other automotive clears. HOK products are designed for long lasting custom paint jobs where other brands are designed for OEM repairs. Don't risk mixing products!

Kosmic Kolor Solid Black and White Urethane (UB Series)

Catalyst / Reducers
Catalyst (KU100)
This product is for use only in HOK UK Kandys, UB & UFB products. Due to its unique chemistry, KU100 should never be substituted with other brand catalysts.
CAUTION: Not to be mixed with any other product codes.
Exempt Catalyst (KU150)
This product is for use only in House of Kolor KoSeal II, UC & UFC Klears. Due to its unique chemistry, KU150 should never be substituted with other brand catalysts.
Slow Exempt Catalyst (KU151)
This product must be pre-mixed with other products before use. KU151 is a multi-purpose catalyst for urethane finishes, designed for high temperatures, humid conditions, and improves the flow.
Catalyst (KU-200)
KU-200 is for use in striping and lettering urethanes only.
Krator Eliminator (KE170)
An additive that corrects fisheye or crater defects. Works with lacquer, urethane, polyurethane, acrylic urethane, acrylic enamel, and other polymer coatings. A must have product for your paint shop.
Intercoat Clear (SG100)
USE ONLY WHEN TOP COATING WITH URETHANE ENAMEL
SG100 Intercoat Clear is designed for use as a protective clear for artwork tape-outs on Shimrin® Basecoats - it prevents permanent tape markings and protects metallic surfaces when artwork is planned. SG100 Intercoat Clear may be used to blend Shimrin® Pearl and Metallic Basecoats and to mix Pearl and Kandy Koncentrates. This product is also a good choice to reduce Shimrin® Basecoats for touch-ups and blends.
MUST BE TOP COATED WITH UC1, UFC1, UFC19, UFC35 OR UC35

Kosmic Kolor Urethane Enamel Klear (UC35)
UC-35 is a 3.5 VOC, National Rule and SCAQMD Rule 1151 compliant version of UC-1. It may be used to topcoat any urethane or polyurethane enamels, and any SHIMRIN® Base Coat color. UC35 gives a high-gloss, has excellent weathering and UV resistance. UC35 dries fast and hard, and can be colored sanded and buffed the next day. NOTE: REQUIRES KU-150 HARDENER AND KOSMIC REDUCER.
MIX RATIO 2:1:1 - 2 PARTS CLEAR/ 1 PART KU-150 HARDENER/ 1 PART RU REDUCER
Polyurethane Flo-Klear (UFC35)
This product is a 3.5 VOC, National Rule and SCAQMD Rule 1151 compliant product. It may be used to topcoat any of our urethane or polyurethane enamels, or any of our SHIMRIN® Base Coats color. UFC-35 gives an ultrahigh gloss finish with good abrasion resistance, is very flexible and polishes and buffs easily. NOTE: REQUIRES KU-150 HARDENER AND KOSMIC REDUCER.
MIX RATIO 2:1 - 2 PARTS INTERCOAT CLEAR/ 1 PART RU REDUCER
Fast Dry Reducer (RU310)
RU-310 is recommended for use with our Kosmic Kolor® Base Coats, Shimrin® Base Coats, Kandys, and Klears. Has staged release for proper flow out, leveling, and gloss retention.
Medium Dry Reducer (RU311)
RU-311 is recommended for use with our Kosmic Kolor® Base Coats, Shimrin® Base Coats, Kandys, and Klears. Has staged release for proper flow out, leveling, and gloss retention.
Slow Dry Reducer (RU312)
RU-312 is recommended for use with our Kosmic Kolor® Base Coats, Shimrin® Base Coats, Kandys, and Klears. Has staged release for proper flow out, leveling, and gloss retention.
Very Slow Dry Reducer (RU313)
RU-313 is recommended for blending bases or Kandys and for very large objects. Also recommended for warm, humid conditions to increase flow time and leveling. (For extremely hot and humid conditions, RU-315 Retarder is recommended to slow dry time even more.)
VOC Exempt Reducer (RU300)
RU300 can be used to reduce all Kosmic System products; Kandys, Clears, and all Shimrin® Basecoats. RU300 will not increase or decrease the VOC content of any product it is added to. RU300 is not a reactive reducer; therefore it will not react with any coating. RU300 is a fast to medium dry reducer that may be blended with other reducers to achieve different dry times.
Retarder (RU315)
Designed for the Kosmic Kolor® Urethane system to retard dry time in situations where this is deemed necessary, such as force drying. May be added to faster reducers to slow their dry time in emergency situations.
