4100 Series Aluminium Bases  (purchase options below)

Aluminum Bases are available in three grades: Fine, Medium and Coarse. They are highly reflective and intended for use as an undercoat for the 4600 Series Candy Colors. Aluminum Bases may also be used alone for an aluminum-like, reflective finish or as an undercoat for Series 4200 Transparent Colors for reflective, custom effects. Use of the different grades against one another with a Candy Color top application create fantastic effects.

Highly reflective – more so than 4300 Series silvers.

Best applied over 4002 Sealer Dark or an underlying coat of Auto Air, not direct to the substrate.

Aluminum Bases are may require a longer period to cure than what is required for most other Auto Air Colors due to coating used to prevent aluminum from gassing.

Use of mid-coat prior to aggressive masking for graphics may prevent peeling.

Mid-coat may be of a urethane inter-coat clear or Auto Air 4004 Transparent Base.

Use of mid-coat may not be necessary, especially if Aluminum Base Colors are thoroughly cured.

Intended for application with a spray gun or large tip-sized airbrush.

• Spray-Gun: 1.2mm tip
• Mini-Spray Gun: 1.0mm tip
• Airbrush: 0.5mm tip or larger
• Reduce: Spray Gun @ 10% per volume with 4011 Flash Reducer
• Airbush: @ 30% per volume or more with 4011 Flash Reducer
